Laydeview Cottage & Glenview Cottage, Cushendun

Nestled at the bottom of Glendun these comfortable cottages have been completely renovated providing luxurious self-catering accommodation. Just a mile from the picturesque village of Cushendun with its charming whitewashed dwellings and sandy beach it is perfect for that relaxing break with family or friends.  For the more energetic the North Coast offers excellent walking along a network of country roads and lanes or in the forest park. Convenient to golf courses, fishing in the nearby Glendun River (a salmon river) Laydeview Cottage and Glenview Cottage are also an ideal base for touring the North Coast and the famous Giant’s Causeway.

Cushendun is full of natural beauty and steeped in history. The heart of the village was designed by the famous architect Clough Williams Ellis and The Square and Maud Cottages have a distinctive Cornish influence in their design.  Glenmona Lodge and Rockport Lodge, both Georgian style houses, have had famous residents such as John Masefield, Louis MacNeice and Moira O’Neill. The ruin of Carra Castle as shown below is where in 1567 the feud between the O’Neill and Mac Donald clans finally ended with the beheading of Shane O’Neill.

Both Laydeview Cottage and Glenview Cottage are four-star accommodation sleeping seven people each.  Downstairs there is a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a separate dining room. There is also a cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (all with fitted wardrobes and dressing tables, the family bedroom has a beautiful ensuite) and a bathroom.
